This Journey Begins

Now, having done prior preparation through life and other practices, let the study and practice of yoga begin.

The emphasis on the word ‘now‘ draws our attention to the understanding that we come to this path in the time that is meant for us. When we are able to look on all that has gone before with a feeling of gratitude, that the entire sum of our life’s experiences – aversions, cravings and everything else in between – have all come to bring us to this point when we are finally ready to begin.

Then we can even feel a certain sense of peace – an easing – as we let go and begin to truly rest in this knowledge : that all our journeying has really been our ‘guiding’.
